Our Top 3 Skincare Rituals
What do you love about your skin? Often times it’s all too easy to become fixated on something we find “unattractive”. We all have skin that is uniquely our own, and by cultivating important qualities like self-compassion, patience, and gratitude, we instantly become more radiant. As for our favorite skin care rituals, our belief is that less is more, natural is best, and keeping it simple is key!
Here are 3 of our favorite skincare rituals
FACE MASSAGE: Moving your lymphatic system is key to healthy skin. There are several techniques you can use to get things moving underneath the skin’s surface. Facial tools like a Jade Roller or Gua Sha are two of our favorites. You want to make sure to apply a face serum before beginning so the skin has some slip and doesn’t pull. Always work upwards & outwards, using medium pressure, (light pressure around the eyes), and repeat each stroke approximately 5 times. If you don’t have a facial tool, no problem, use your hands! Facial massage helps boost cell rejuvenation, promotes blood circulation, and reduces stress and tension in the face.
EXFOLIATE: We can’t get enough when it comes to exfoliation. There are ongoing debates on how often you should exfoliate, but we prefer 2-3 times per week. If you feel like you need more and your skin is responding well, DO IT!! You can choose from a physical exfoliation like a face scrub or brush, or a chemical exfoliant that breaks down the bond between dead skin cells. We like both as long as it’s made with natural, toxic-free ingredients.
PRE+PROBIOTIC: It’s no surprise that radiant skin starts from within. By now, most of us know that your gut plays a huge role in how you look and feel! Eating clean and organic foods is key to healthy skin. A great way to support your efforts is by adding a pre+probiotic to your ritual. Our go-to is the Skin Squad Pre-Probiotic by HUM nutrition. Their products are formulated with clinically proven ingredients that are clean, from nature, and triple-tested for purity and potency.
