Food As Medicine

Hi friends. My name is Amy and I am a Certified Health Coach. I am passionate about healthy eating and sharing that passion with others.
I became a Health Coach a few years ago, but began my personal journey toward health and wellness years before that. And my journey has been just that...a journey! Where I am today is not at all where I was when I began, nor where I thought I'd be. I started looking at what I was eating when I first got married and started cooking for my husband and I. By the time our first child was born, I was ready to make all of her baby food! With each pregnancy and child, I've learned more about food, nutrition, and feeding a family. I want to give our children a foundation of good food and nutrition, and the knowledge to make healthy choices in their future lives.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder. I tried conventional and alternative treatments, and finally saw results with functional medicine. To heal my thyroid with functional medicine, I had to make major diet and lifestyle changes, and I made these changes for myself and my family. My interest in food as medicine grew and I began sharing my knowledge with friends and family, and eventually with clients as a Certified Health Coach.
I firmly believe the food we eat impacts our bodies more than most people realize. I have worked with both groups and individual clients to reach their health and wellness goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and three kids, reading, and crocheting.
