5 Tips to manage Stress and Anxiety
If you’re like me, you thrive on routine. The rhythm of my day gives you comfort and peace. That all changed when Covid-19 entered our world, and we as a collective have had to shift gears and create a new normal. When you hear the words, “we are all in this together”, they have never rang more true as we pause globally.
Here are some helpful ways to bring more peace to your mind, body and soul.
SOLITUDE - is different from loneliness. We don’t need people to be happy. Solitude is the strength of being alone. We can become our best company. Find one thing everyday that brings you joy. It can be learning something new, painting, walking, cooking, looking up at the clouds.
SURROUNDINGS - make your home relaxing. Remove clutter, hang pictures of loved ones, or bright paintings. Get outside and let the sun shine on your face, taking in some great Vitamin D. Feel more grounded by walking barefoot on the grass.
SOUNDS- go to sleep listening to calming sounds, enjoy classical music throughout the day, or go outside and listen to the sound of nature.
SCENTS- light a candle, place aromatherapy oils such as lavender on your wrists, and behind your neck, on your temples. Slice an orange and breathe in the stress relieving scent of citrus.
MEDITATION- place your right palm on your heart, left palm on your belly. Breathe in for 4 counts, and exhale for 4 counts. Breathe in peace, love, light, and breathe out negativity.
